BKW is one of the leading Swiss Electric Utility companies. Positioning itself within a liberalised market, the company decided to start sustainability reporting. A sustainability policy should prepare the ground for sound sustainability reporting.
BSD conducted interviews with the senior management, studied the sector and produced a preliminary analysis report on the company’s role, issues and stakeholders.
The results were then discussed with a group of employees to focus the content. This resulted in an options report, which outlined options for defining the company’s role in the context of sustainability and options for action to be taken.
This report was also discussed within the group of employees, and a final report, with one suggestion for a policy and activities as the basis for an internal proposal to the senior management, concluded the mandate.
